Edward H. Moore

Edward Hall Moore (* 19th November 1871 in Maryville , Nodaway County , Missouri , †  2. September 1950 in Tulsa , Oklahoma ) was an American politician of the Republican Party , of the state of Oklahoma in the US Senate represented.

Born on a Missouri farm, Moore attended public school and high school in Chillicothe . He later worked as a teacher in Nodaway County, Atchison County and Jackson Counties before studying law and graduating from the University of Missouri Law School in Kansas City in 1900 . After joining the bar the following year, he began practicing law in his hometown of Maryville.

Only a little later, Moore moved to Okmulgee , Oklahoma, where he continued to work as a lawyer until 1919 before moving to other business areas. So he got into the oil industry and dealt with livestock.

Edward Moore did not pursue a political career until he was old. In 1942 he was elected as a Republican to the US Senate, which he served for a full legislative period from January 3, 1943 to January 3, 1949; he did not stand for re-election in 1948. Moore retired into private life and died in Tulsa the year after he left Congress.
