Edward Joseph Hanna (born July 21, 1860 in Rochester , New York , USA , † July 10, 1944 ) was Archbishop of San Francisco .

Life

Edward Joseph Hanna received on May 30, 1885 sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 22, 1912 appointed him Pope Pius X to the titular bishop of Titiopolis and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in San Francisco. The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Giovanni Vincenzo Bonzano , ordained him episcopal on December 4 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Chicago , James Edward Quigley , and the Bishop of Richmond , Denis Joseph O'Connell .

On June 1, 1915, Pope Benedict XV appointed him . to the Archbishop of San Francisco. Edward Joseph Hanna resigned as Archbishop of San Francisco on March 2, 1935, and was named Titular Archbishop of Gortyna .
