Edward "Ed" Harrison Leslie (born April 21, 1957 in Tampa , Florida ) is an American wrestler . He became known in the World Wrestling Federation under the name Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and later in the WCW as The Butcher , Zodiak and The Disciple . In 2019 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame .

Career

National Wrestling Alliance

Leslie began his career in 1977 under the names Eddie Boulder and Dizzy Hogan as a team partner of his friend Hulk Hogan . In the early 1980s he made sporadic appearances for the World Wrestling Federation and performed in Bill Watts ' Mid-South region. Also in 1980 he and Robert Fuller received the NWA Southeastern Tag Team Champion title for the first time, which he was to receive two more times in 1983 with Ken Lucas.

World Wrestling Federation

In 1984 he moved to what was then the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE). There he got the name Brutus Beefcake . He also took part in the first WrestleMania that year , as an opponent of David Sammartino, son of Bruno Sammartino .

In 1985 Leslie formed the Tag Team Dream Team with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine . Together they won the WWF Tag Team Championship from Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham on August 24, 1985 . They gave the title at Wrestlemania II to The British Bulldogs ( Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid ). In 1987 the dream team split up . That same evening, which was (Wrestlemania III) gimmick of Barber (Engl.
