Egemen Korkmaz (born November 3, 1982 in Balıkesir , Turkey ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

In the club

Egemen Korkmaz began his amateur career with Balıkesirspor in 1999 and played for a year. Then he switched to Kartalspor . During the time at Kartalspor he rose with the team in the 3rd division . In the winter break of the 2001/02 season Egemen moved to Bursaspor . At Bursaspor, Egemen played six years as a central defender. For the 2008/09 season Egemen Korkmaz moved to Trabzonspor . In his last season at Trabzonspor, Egemen Korkmaz was runner-up as team captain. He bears the number 16, the area code of his ex-club Bursaspor.

On May 25, 2011 it was announced that Korkmaz was moving to Beşiktaş Istanbul on a free transfer . There he signed a four-year contract.

Beşiktaş Istanbul had to reduce player salaries due to financial problems. Korkmaz could not come to an agreement with the board, which is why he asked for his clearance. After his contract with Beşiktaş Istanbul was dissolved, he signed shortly afterwards with city rivals Fenerbahçe Istanbul . When the contract ended in the summer of 2015, Fenerbahçe did not receive a contract extension and then left this club after three years of membership.

In summer 2015 he moved to the Swiss club FC Wil . For the second half of the 2016/17 season he returned to Turkey and hired the reigning autumn champions Istanbul Başakşehir . Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor signed Korkmaz for the 2018/19 season.

In the national team

Korkmaz made his debut for Turkey on September 2, 2011 against Kazakhstan .
