Medal of Honor of the City of Göttingen
The Medal of Honor of the City of Göttingen is an award which was first awarded in 1953 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the first documentary mention of the city of Göttingen . The medal honors people whose work in the fields of science, culture and public life is closely related to the city.
The medal is awarded at irregular intervals. In the past, several people were sometimes recognized in one year.
