Eibenstein is a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Gmünd in the district of Gmünd in Lower Austria .

The cadastral community of Eibenstein is divided into the villages of Großeibenstein with 212 inhabitants and Kleineibenstein with 187 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there was a total of 159 building areas with 50,296 m² and 93 gardens on 55,672 m² in the cadastral community of Eibenstein , in 1989/1990 there were 169 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 455 and in 2009/2010 there were 257 buildings on 590 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is shaped by forestry. 155 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 442 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 126 hectares and 462 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 81 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 463 hectares. The average soil climate number of Eibenstein is 16.9 (as of 2010).
