Grillenstein is a village and a cadastral community of the municipality of Gmünd in the Gmünd district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there was a total of 77 building areas with 19,087 m² and 46 gardens on 18,883 m² in the cadastral community of Grillenstein , in 1989/1990 there were 86 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 207 and in 2009/2010 there were 118 buildings on 261 building areas.

Agriculture

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 92 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 79 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 78 hectares and 91 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 67 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 92 hectares. The average soil climate number of Grillenstein is 19.1 (as of 2010).
