Breitensee is a village and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Gmünd in the Gmünd district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 82 building areas with 28,821 m² and 49 gardens on 40,296 m² in the cadastral community Breitensee and also in 1989/1990 there were 82 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 223 and in 2009/2010 there were 126 buildings on 272 building areas.

Agriculture

The cadastral community is shaped by forestry. 184 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 262 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 159 hectares and 277 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 124 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 294 hectares. Breitensee's average soil climate number is 20.5 (as of 2010).
