Auto mechanic Jeff Obold's wife is killed in a car accident. Obold meets the wealthy Bruno Rubin, with whom he befriends. He learns that Rubin is assisted by an evil spirit who lives in the basement of his house. Over time, Obold becomes dominated by the spirit.
Reviews
The lexicon of international films wrote that a dark spirit was a "mediocre horror film in all respects which, towards the end, develops into an involuntary genre parody" .
Cinema magazine wrote that the "little, mysterious" film was a "show piece with the handbrake on" . He " seldom pulls on the nerves" despite solid actors .
