Skye McCole Bartusiak (born September 28, 1992 in Houston , Texas , † July 19, 2014 there ) was an American actress .

Life

McCole Bartusiak was a model in front of the camera at the age of two . At seven, she began her acting career in after a screenplay by Stephen King created television series Storm of the Century .

Skye McCole Bartusiak took her first role in a major production in 2000 in The Patriot as the daughter of Mel Gibson's character. In the same year she played in the television film A Dark Spirit alongside F. Murray Abraham and subsequently received other roles - for example, the following year she played the young Marilyn Monroe in the miniseries Blonde and took on a role in the thriller Don't say a word with Michael Douglas and Brittany Murphy . The Texan was nominated for the Young Artist Award for her role in the film On the Road with Boys by Penny Marshall .

On July 19, 2014, the 21-year-old was found lifeless in her bed by family members. Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The cause of death was acute organ failure as a result of an overdose of the pain reliever hydrocodone and the muscle relaxant carisoprodol .
