Railway Act of June 25, 2014

The Danish Railways Act of June 25, 2014 ( Danish Lov 719 af 25/06/2014 - Lov om projektering af nyanlæg og hastighedsopgraderinger af en række jernbanestrækninger på hovedbanen og regionalbanerne ) includes projects to carry out line improvement, as a result of which the speeds of the trains increase Main and branch lines can be increased.

The Danish Folketing entrusts the Ministry of Transport with the law to plan and design the following construction projects, including assessing their impact on the environment:

  1. A new route through Vestfyn (Annex 1 of the Act)
  2. A new route across Vejle Fjord (Annex 2 of the Act)
  3. A new route between Hovedgård and Hasselager (Annex 3 of the Act)
  4. A rail connection to the city of Billund and Billund Airport
  5. Speed ​​increases on the main lines Fredericia – Vejle, Vejle – Horsens, Horsens – Hovedgård and Aarhus – Aalborg as well as improvements in Aarhus Central Station including platform adjustments
  6. Speed increases for regional railway lines Aalborg Frederikshavn , Struer-Thisted , Langå-Struer , Østerport-Elsinore , Vejle-Struer , Esbjerg Struer , Skanderborg-Skjern , Bramming-Tønder , Holbæk-Kalundborg , Køge North Næstved and Tinglev-Sønderborg
  7. Improvement of freight and passenger capacities in North Jutland
  8. Increase in line capacity between Herning and Holstebro
  9. Level-free expansion of Ny Ellebjerg station
  10. Construction of another through track at Gødstrup station

The law was signed by Queen Margrethe II on June 25, 2014 and came into force on July 1, 2014.
