Eivin One Pedersen

Eivin One Pedersen (born September 8, 1956 in Stavanger , Norway ; † February 22, 2012 ) was a Norwegian jazz and improvisation musician ( accordion , piano and composition ).

Life

Born in 1956 in Stavanger, Norway, Pedersen worked with Frode Gjerstad since 1975 and then had his own groups such as the Extended Noise quartet (with Carl Morten Iversen , Erik Balke and Audun Kleive ) (some of which were expanded to a quintet ). In 1981 he released his debut album Solo mio! in front. Since the same year he has also played with Gjerstad and John Stevens in the Trio Detail , which appeared the following year with Johnny Dyani at the Molde International Jazz Festival , and since 1985 in Gjerstad's free jazz ensemble Circulasione Totale Orchestra , which presented itself in Molde in 1987 and later was expanded to CTO Dancemble . He also worked in the Calling Signals formation with Frode Gjerstad, Nick Stephens and Paal Nilssen-Love , as well as Terje Isungset , Katja Medbøe , Rolf Jacobsen , Randi Tytingvåg and Elin Furubotn .

Pedersen was a member of the jury at the 1979 Melodi Grand Prix , headed the Foreningen norske jazzmusikere and composed Ein med alt for the jazz festival MaiJazz in his hometown in 1996 . He also wrote the music for theater and film, for example for the feature film Karachi (1989, director: Oddvar Einarson). In 1988 he was awarded the Foreningen norske jazzmusikere prize.
