Ekaterina Kalugina (born April 16, 1993 in Sergijewsk , Russia ; also Katja Kalugina ) is a Russian professional dancer who last started with Dimitri Barov as a professional of the World Dance Council .

Life

Kalugina grew up in Germany. She has been dancing since she was ten. As an amateur, she last started in the S-class in Latin American dances for the dance club Shall We Dance Berlin. From July 2012 she danced in the Professional Division of the German Dance Sports Association , first with Andrey Mangra, then from the beginning of 2013 with Dmitry Barov. The couple, who competed for the dance sports club Blau-Silber Berlin in the Olympic Sports Club Berlin , switched to the German Professional Dance Sports Association in the World Dance Council at the beginning of 2014, where they were active until May 2018.

Before her career as a dance athlete, she was a. a. Model for Takko and seen in a TV commercial for Ahoj-Brause . She also starred in the music video of Jeanette Biedermann's song Hold The Line . 2010/2011 she completed a professional dance education with focus on classical ballet and jazz and modern dance , but they ended early in order to 2012 the fifth season of RTL -Tanzshow Let's Dance participate.

In the fifth season of 2012, her dance partner was the singer Ardian Bujupi . In 2014 she took part with the actor Dirk Moritz . In 2018 she danced with Roman Lochmann , a year later with the pop singer Lukas Rieger .

successes

Kalugina was u. a. 2009 runner-up youth latin and youth 10 dances and won the "Holland Masters" and in 2010 won second place in the amateurs Latin and third place in the amateurs standard at the Berlin state championships. In 2012 she again finished second at the Berlin State Championships.

As a professional, she won third place at the European Free Skating Championship in Luxembourg in September 2012 and second place at the German Free Skating Latin Championship in 2014 and 2016.
