Roman Lochmann (born May 13, 1999 in Mainz ) is a German pop singer who won the 2009 ORF Kiddy Contest . He ran the YouTube channel Die Lochis with his twin brother Heiko Lochmann until May 2019 .

Life

In 2009, at the age of ten, Roman Lochmann took first place at the Kiddy Contest , an ORF casting show , together with Lara Krause with a cover version of Cassandra Steen's Lied Stadt , Märchenwald . The album Kiddy Contest Vol. 15 reached number one in the Austrian charts .

Lochmann also became known through his appearances on the ZDF show Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel together with the other participants in the Kiddy Contest and the donation gala Licht ins Dunkel , where his Christmas song Christmas was presented with Lara Krause. Altogether he recorded two songs together with Krause, Märchenwald and Herz aus Glas on December 18, 2010 in the Wiener Stadthalle all Filnalsten 2010 as guest stars Roman and Lara Krause . He also appeared in the 2011 RTL II show Who is Germany's Best? against eleven other young singers and won in the final show with 41 percent of the audience votes in the televoting .

Since 2011, he and his twin brother Heiko Lochmann have been distributing their own pieces of music on the Die Lochis channel on the YouTube video platform , which was able to place itself continuously online in the German and Austrian charts for two weeks. Lochmann lived in Goddelau , a district of Riedstadt in Hesse , and lives in Darmstadt in 2019 .

Since 2014, Roman Lochmann and his brother Heiko have been campaign ambassadors for the Youth Against AIDS awareness initiative .

In 2016 he completed his school education with a high school diploma in media production .

In 2018 he and his brother took part in the 11th season of the RTL show Let's Dance .

In 2018 they took part in the RTL Ninja Warrior Germany celebrity special for the RTL donation marathon .

He also appeared in episode 166 of the television show Do You Understand Fun? on.

On May 11, 2019, Die Lochis announced that they are expected to split professionally in September 2019. They state in a video posted on YouTube that they want to "close this chapter" but "not the whole book". The last Lochis concert took place on September 28, 2019 in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle.

In October 2019, Roman Lochmann and his brother Heiko Lochmann published the autobiography “Welcome Reality” - The Lochis tell their story. The book reached number 13 on the Spiegel bestseller list non-fiction.
