Ekkehard Schmidt

Ekkehard Schmidt (born May 26, 1942 in Berlin ; † March 11, 2020 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Schmidt attended high school with a technical college entrance qualification and initially did an apprenticeship as a car mechanic , which he completed in 1959 with the journeyman's examination. In 1962 he became an engineer for general mechanical engineering and in 1973 a technical business economist . He then worked at Schindler Aufzügefabrik GmbH .

In 1970 Schmidt joined the CDU. In the Berlin election in 1975 he was elected to the district assembly in the Spandau district. In the following election in 1979 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In 1990 Schmidt won the direct mandate for the constituency Spandau 7. In 1995 he left parliament.

He was a member of the Freemasons Association .
