Ekkehart Siering (born September 13, 1965 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German administrative lawyer , and was Bremen State Councilor and representative of the Senator for Economics, Labor and Ports Martin Günthner ( SPD ) until August 2019 ; Susanne Ahlers was her successor .

biography

Siering went to school in Solingen and Berlin and attended the Horn high school in Bremen - Horn-Lehe until 1988 . He then studied law with a focus on public law at the University of Bremen and completed his training with the two state exams. After the first state examination, Siering was assistant to the management at TeleNews Bremen .

Subsequently, from 1998, he initially worked as a legal advisor and EXPO representative at the municipal association of Greater Hanover (KGH, now Region-Hanover Hanover Region). In this role he prepared the region's appearance at the EXPO 2000 world exhibition .
In 1999 he moved to the Senate Chancellery of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen as head of division for the political area of ​​media law and media management. In this function he exercised the legal supervision of Radio Bremen and, for two years, also of the ZDF . He accompanied the founding of the nordmedia film funding organization and was on its award committee for over ten years.
In 2013 he became head of department for the central investment management division of Bremen's own companies at the Senator for Finance Karoline Linnert (Greens). He took on the representation of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen in the holding companies.
Siering was also the managing director of the Hanseatic Housing Association (Hawobeg) and the Bremer Verkehrsgesellschaft (BVG).

In July 2015, Siering was appointed as the successor to Heiner Heseler (SPD) for economics and Matthias Stauch (SPD) for labor as a State Councilor and representative of Senator Martin Günthner. During this time he was chairman of the supervisory boards of various companies (bremenports, Bremen Airport, M3B GmbH, BAB Bremer Aufbaubank, HAGE EcoMaT) and on the advisory board of the Federal Network Agency . The Nord / LB appointed him to the regional advisory board after the merger with Bremer Landesbank .

Siering's proposal to solve the traffic problems in Bremen's Überseestadt district by means of a cable car met with interest. The Senate could not agree on a common approach.

In August 2019, Siering resigned from the office of the State Council after Kristina Vogt ( Die Linke ) took over the economics, labor and Europe department . Susanne Ahlers became his successor .
Siering has been managing director of Hansewasser GmbH, the waste water disposal company in Bremen , since April 2020 .
