The El Nido Airport , locally known as "Lio Airport", is a private airport on the Philippine island of Palawan .
history
The airport was built in 1983 by the Philippine-Japanese company Ten Knots Development Corporation as "Lio Airport" in order to make their resorts built in the region more accessible.
Location and transport links
The El Nido Airport is located in the area of the municipality of El Nido in the extreme northeast of the island of Palawan in the southwest of the island state of Philippines. The place El Nido itself is about 4 km away; the connection is via the Taytay-El Nido National Highway, which connects El Nido with Taytay . The transfer between the airport and the town is carried out by hotel buses and privately operating motorcyclists.

The airport has one building each for arriving and departing passengers. The buildings face each other, are open to the outside and covered by a thatched roof.

Capacity and traffic figures
[obsolete] There are regular AirSwift connections to Angeles City ( CRK ), Caticlan ( MPH ), Cebu ( CEB ), Coron ( USU ), Manila ( MNL ) and Panglao ( TAG ). Manila is served five times a day, Cebu twice, Caticlan one or two times a day and Angeles City several times a week. The jet pooling provider Jetprivate also offers charter flights. The airport was also temporarily served by SEAir . The state airport Puerto Princesa in the island capital of Puerto Princesa, 230 km away, is much larger.
