Coron is a Filipino municipality in the province of Palawan . It has 51,803 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census).

The borough of Coron is made up of part of Busuanga Island and all of the nearby Coron Island . Both islands belong to the Calamian Islands in the north of the province of Palawan.

The main industries in Coron are fishing and tourism.

In particular, very good diving opportunities are beneficial for tourism. Popular destinations are the wrecks of Japanese ships from WWII . B. after the Akitsushima flying boat tender sunk by Fast Carrier Task Force 38 on September 24, 1944 .

There is a Palawan State University campus in the community .
