Taytay is a Filipino municipality in the province of Palawan . It has 75,165 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census). Lake Manguao , into which numerous rivers flow, is seven kilometers southeast of the community center . The western part of the community lies in the nature park Malampaya Sound Protected Landscape / Seascape and the northern in El Nido-Taytay Managed Resource Protected Area , both are combined landscape and marine protected areas .
In Taytay in 1738 the Spanish fortress Fuerza de Sta. Isabel completed, it served as protection against the Moro pirates on raids in the 18th century. There is a Palawan State University campus in the community .
