The Mactan-Cebu Airport ( English Mactan-Cebu International Airport ; Filipino Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Mactan-Cebu ) is an international airport in the Visayas region in the Philippines with the ICAO code RPVM and the IATA code CEB . It is located in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan east of the island of Cebu .

Airport infrastructure : The airport consists of one terminal . The international part was established in 1997 by Japan's ODA (Official Development Assistance). The asphalt runway has a length of 3300 m and is 11 m above sea level. The facilities are also designed for the Boeing 747 aircraft .

The airport, built in the 1960s with an area of ​​10.56 km², has the most flight movements of the Philippine airports after Manila Airport (Ninoy Aquino International). This is about 600 km away. The airport operator is the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA).

Two new passenger boarding bridges are currently being built. In addition, extensive renovation work is taking place in the public area.

Airport facilities

In the international departure area, after customs control, there is a shop with duty-free shopping and, after the adjoining security gate, there is the Philippine Airlines Mabuhay lounge . There is a restaurant in the vicinity, the separate, rear area of which is used by Cathay Pacific as a business class lounge . There is also a souvenir shop and a massage parlor, which can be used by any traveler for a fee. In the national departure area there is a Mabuhay lounge for Philippine Airlines, an open restaurant area in the departure hall and a souvenir shop. Departing and arriving travelers can also, for a fee, use the facilities of the Waterfront Hotel located directly next to the airport building , which is easily accessible on foot. There is also a casino with roulette, baccarat, poker, blackjack and slot machines.

Airport taxis and limousine service wait at the exit of the arrivals area. Metered taxis are available at the entrance to the departure area. There are also exchange counters, ATMs, shops and a few simple restaurants available.

Airport tax

The terminal fee that was previously payable has been billed to the airline ticket for national flights since the beginning of 2013. This means that there is no cash payment at the gate. For international flights, the terminal fee must still be paid in cash after check-in. Since Terminal 2 opened in July 2018, the fee has been 850 pesos.
