Scoot is a budget airline from Singapore with base on the Singapore airport . It is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines . Scoot currently flies to 66 destinations in 18 countries (as of October 2018).
history
Scoot was founded in November 2011 by Singapore Airlines as a competitor to already established and rapidly expanding low-cost airlines in Asia and started operations in June 2012. The subsidiary NokScoot was founded together with Nok Air and started operating on May 5, 2015.
From September 2015 to July 2017, Scoot was the first airline in the world to operate a standard fleet of Boeing 787s .
In July 2017, Singapore Airlines merged its two subsidiaries, Scoot and Tigerair , and the Tigerair brand disappeared completely, only the IATA code TR was taken over as such by the new subsidiary. By mid-2018, all aircraft should be repainted with the scooter's livery. The aircraft load factor in 2017/18 was 85.7%.
