Elda Marazzi

Elda Marazzi (* 27. February 1909 in Locarno , † 25. August 1982 ibid ; heimatberechtigt in Riva San Vitale ) was a Swiss women's rights activist from the canton of Ticino .

Life

Elda Marazzi was a daughter of Giuseppe Marazzi and Rosa Rossi. She attended the grammar school in Locarno and the Stans college. After training at the Civil Hospital Locarno Marazzi worked for ten years as secretary of the head physician of the surgery . She then ran a family-owned restaurant . From 1937 to 1982 she was secretary of the Ticino Cancer League . She was a strong advocate of women's rights in various associations . She presided over the Ticino Association for Women's Suffrage from 1964 to 1974 . For the liberal radicals, she sat on the Ticino Grand Council from 1971 to 1975 and on the local council ( legislature ) of Locarno from 1972 to 1979 . She was also a member of the party executive. She was one of the first to actively participate in the consumer forum in Italian-speaking Switzerland .
