Electric is the twelfth studio album by the British pop duo Pet Shop Boys . It was released in 2013 and is the first album by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe that is not released by Parlophone , but by their own label "x2". It was produced by Stuart Price .
It contains, among other things, a cover of the song The Last to Die by Bruce Springsteen as well as the song Thursday , for which the Pet Shop Boys collaborated with the rapper Example .
The album was recorded from November 2012 to April 2013 in London, Berlin and Los Angeles. Fluorescent was written and recorded in April 2013. A short trailer for the album was released on YouTube on March 14th . On May 1st, the first single Axis was released as a download on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Juno Download etc. The music video has since been available on YouTube and tape.tv as well.
