Electronics passport

The electronics pass was introduced in autumn 1969 by the Heinz Piest Institute for Handicraft Technology at the University of Hanover (HPI) as a nationwide training system for the handicrafts. The electronics certificate introduced shortly afterwards by the DIHT chambers of industry and commerce can be regarded as equivalent , as the learning content largely corresponds.

The electronics pass was designed from the start as a supplementary proof of advanced training for electrical professions. All courses are carried out according to national guidelines. HPI offers teaching material for all courses in the form of questionnaires and accompanying books. There are over 200 training centers nationwide that offer the electronics passport as a training measure based on HPI guidelines.

Courses

  • Part One:

Electrotechnical basics of electronics , about 160 teaching units

Physical and mathematical fundamentals, electrotechnical fundamentals, the simple circuit , the extended circuit, voltage sources , the electric field, the magnetic field, interaction of real and reactive resistances , measurement technology , dangers of electric current, final examination.

  • Part II:

Components and basic circuits of microelectronics , about 100 teaching units

Semiconductor diodes , bipolar transistors , field effect transistors , operational amplifiers , sensors , light-emitting photo semiconductors , optical waveguides and display units, logic circuits and signal memories , thyristors , final exams.

  • Part III:

Microelectronics assemblies , about 160 teaching units

Amplifier circuits , multivibrators and signal generators , control technology , supply circuits, digital circuits, transmission methods , microprocessor technology , final exams.
