Eleonore Rudolph
Eleonore Rudolph (* 12. December 1923 in Blankenese ) is a German politician of the CDU and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .
Life
Eleonore Rudolph is the daughter of a social democrat active in the Weimar Republic . The father, who considered himself a religious socialist , was temporarily removed from the post of teacher at the Christianeum by the National Socialists in 1933 . Through her experience as a child and young woman during the Nazi regime, it became an “obligation” for her to fight for a democratic general system.
After the war , Rudolph studied history in Hamburg and Heidelberg . She made her first practical experience in politics by bringing up the children and working as a parent representative.

Eleonore Rudolph joined the CDU in 1965 and was a deputy in the youth authority and later, after the merger, in the school authority. Within the party, she was active in the “women's association” (later women's union ).
From 1974 to 2001 Rudolph was a member of the Hamburg Parliament . In her first electoral term she came just above the list position 49 in the citizenship (the CDU won 51 seats). After that she always moved into parliament with a cheaper list position . She was the specialist spokesperson for her group for youth policy issues. Later the focus changed to general social policy .
In the citizenry she was represented in the committees for culture, science, school and youth as well as budget.
Further offices
Outside of parliament, Rudolph is heavily involved in the church sector. She was on the church council of the Kreuzkirche Ottensen as well as in the synod and in the parish council of Altona . She was also active as a member or guest in many women's associations.
Honors
Eleonore Rudolph was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class on December 12, 2008 .
