Elias Hirschl
Elias Hirschl (* 1994 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author , poetry slammer and musician .
Life
Elias Hirschl attended the Rahlgasse high school in Vienna, where he graduated in 2012 . With his band Hirschl he took in 2011 with the song counter attendant on FM4 - Protest Song Contest , where he finished fourth. In 2012 he reached fifth place with Wernhartsgrub , and again fourth place in 2015 with flowers in his hair . In 2012 he released his debut album Alles ist okay .
He published slam texts and short stories in the literary magazine & Radieschen, among others . In October 2014 he won the Austrian Poetry Slam Championships . In 2015 he finished third behind Lisa Eckhart and MC Stoner , and also took third place at the European Poetry Slam Championships in Estonia. In 2015 he also appeared in the PoetrySlamShow in the Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz of the Vienna Burgtheater . Also in 2015 he published his debut novel with The Only Villager with a Telephone Connection, followed in 2016 by his second novel Meine Freunde killed Adolf Hitler and all they brought me was this lousy T-shirt . In 2018 the text collection Happy Pigs in Free Fall was published by Lektora-Verlag .
In August 2017, Hirschl was next to Yasmin Hafedh one of the Austrian representatives at the Grand Poetry Slam at the Augusta Raurica Theater in Switzerland. As part of Buch Wien , he took part in the international German-language poetry slam as the Austrian representative in November 2017. In September 2017, the Darmstadt jury voted the novel Hundred Black Sewing Machines Book of the Month . Together with Martin Gruber , he wrote the text for the production Swing: Dance to the Right , which premiered with the Aktionstheater Ensemble in December 2017, and also contributed texts for the follow-up piece " The Wonderful Destruction of Man ", which premiered in Bregenz in May 2018 .
In April and May 2019, Hirschl toured Asia with the musician Jimmy Brainless , together they visited mostly German-speaking institutes with their musical and literary program, for example the German Embassy School in Beijing .
