Elias Pfannenstill (born December 26, 1990 in Amstetten ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .
Career
Pfannenstill, who competes for WSV Eisenerz , started his international career at FIS jumping in March 2006 on his home hill in Eisenerz . After a disappointing 52nd place Pfannenstill only started again in September 2007 in Berchtesgaden and missed the top ranks again. After he failed in Seefeld in Tirol in December , he still made his debut in the FIS Cup in January 2008 . He reached the points in both competitions on his home hill and was 197th overall with 19 points. After missing top placements again in August and October 2008, Pfannenstill switched to the Alpine Cup . In Seefeld he immediately reached sixth place.
In mid-January 2009 he reached his first FIS Cup podium with third place in Lauscha . Two weeks later he wanted to build on this success on his home hill, but in fourth place just barely missed another podium. At the end of the season, after a fifth place in Ljubno on the same hill , he landed again in third place. In the end, he finished tenth overall.
Pfannenstill paused at international level until 2011. After he had less success in the FIS Cup in July and August, he paused internationally until January 2012. He started at the Austria Cup in December 2011 and won both competitions on the Toni Seelos Olympic hill in Seefeld. At the Austrian Championships in Ramsau am Dachstein in 2012 he won the team competition title together with Florian Schabereiter , Wolfgang Loitzl and David Zauner . At the end of January he made his debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup , but could not jump into the points until jumping in Iron Mountain . In Iron Mountain he won six Continental Cup points with 25th place, which brought him 117th place overall at the end of the season.
After another long break, Pfannenstill started again in the Continental Cup in January 2013 and surprisingly jumped to 11th place after poor results in Zakopane in Bischofshofen. In Planica , he achieved a place among the top ten for the first time with tenth place. Just over a week later, in fifth at Iron Mountain, he just barely missed the podium. After further mixed results until the end of the season, he finished 34th in the overall Continental Cup ranking.
After the 2012/13 season Pfannenstill ended his active ski jumping career. He currently lives in Waidhofen an der Ybbs .
