Elisabeth Breuer

Elisabeth Breuer , also Elisabeth Breuer-Rechberger , (* 1984 ) is an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Elisabeth Breuer grew up in Haus im Ennstal . After graduating from the musical branch of the Stiftsgymnasium Admont , she studied singing with Elisabeth Batrice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz . In 2008 she sang the leading female role in the world premiere of Romeo +/- Juliet by Jörg Ulrich Krah at the Schauspielhaus Wien .

Elisabeth Breuer is married to the violinist Clemens Rechberger.

Opera

She sang Clara in the world premiere of the opera Kaspar H. von Balduin Sulzer at the Kammerspiele of the Landestheater Linz . From 2009 to 2016 she was a permanent member of the opera ensemble at the Landestheater Linz, where she played Gretel in Hansel and Gretel , Norina in Don Pasquale , Despina in Così fan tutte , Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank by Grigori Frid and Adele sang in the bat .

In autumn 2016 she made her debut at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari as Donna Fulvia in La pietra del paragone , at the Teatro San Carlo in The Dwarf by Alexander Zemlinsky and at the Cologne Opera as Christel in the bird dealer . In 2019 she sang the role of Rezia with the L'Orfeo Barockorchester at the Donaufestwochen in the opera L'incontro improvviso by Joseph Haydn .

Concert singer

As a concert singer, she dedicates herself to works of the baroque , Viennese classical music and lieder singing and has performed with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra , the Concentus Musicus Vienna , the Bruckner Orchestra Linz , the L'Orfeo Barockorchester and the Vienna Concert Association . In December 2017 she performed at the Advent concert of the Dresden Kreuzchor in the DDV Stadium .

In December 2018 she made her debut at the Elbphilharmonie , where she performed with the Zürcher Kammerorchester under Christoph Israel and Heike Makatsch (recitation & singing) in “Ein Wintermärchen”.

Awards

  • 2013: Austrian Music Theater Prize - nomination in the category Best Female Supporting Role for her portrayal of Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites
  • 2013/14: Young ensemble award from the Friends of Linz Music Theater
  • 2016: Election of the audience's favorite of the 2015/16 season for Linz music theater visitors and Richard Tauber Medal for the Friends of Linz Music Theater
