Ellen Schulz (* 1957 in Cologne ) is a German actress , director and speaker.

Life

Schulz took on guest roles at the Kölner Schauspielhaus as a student . After her acting training at the Cologne Theater der Keller followed engagements in Ulm and at the Frankfurter Schauspielhaus , where she worked intensively with Dietrich Hilsdorf in particular . For example, in 1985 she was part of the ensemble of his scandalous world premiere of Fassbinder's Der Müll, die Stadt und der Tod . Other roles directed by Hilsdorf were: Abigail in Witches Hunt , Irma in Die Irre von Chaillot , Klärchen in Egmont , the title role in Das Käthchen von Heilbronn , Iokaste in Oidipus and Eve in Der zerbrochne Krug .

Numerous guest engagements followed, including at theaters in Wiesbaden , Bonn , Zurich and Oberhausen . In 1990 she played Frau Capulet in Romeo and Juliet at the Bonn Theater in a production by Jaroslav Chundela . At the Staatstheater Wiesbaden followed in 1991/1992 the Elmire in Tartüffe and the Stella in Endstation Sehnsucht . In the 1994/1995 season she appeared at the Schauspielhaus Zürich as Marion in Dantons Tod .

In addition to her theater work, she participates in numerous TV productions and worked as a lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts .

As a spokesperson, she was and is the voice of numerous advertising campaigns for Bayer , Ferrero , L'Oréal and Citroën, among others . The slogan she uttered “nothing moves you like a Citroën” achieved great fame.

In 2001 she read the audio book version of Cornelia Funke's novel “Behind enchanted windows”. In the last few years she has also increasingly dedicated herself to directing with productions and the like. a. at the Bad Vilbel Castle Festival and the Hanau Fairy Tale Festival .
