Elmar Buck

Elmar Buck (* 8. June 1945 in Innsbruck ) is a German specialist in German and Emeritus Professor at the Department of Theater, Film and Television Studies of the University of Cologne and Director of the Theater Archive , Castle delusion .

Career

Buck studied from 1970 to 1974 at the Technical Universities of Berlin and Hanover with Professors Hans Mayer , Georg Hoeltje , Gerd-Günther Grau and Walter Höllerer . The doctorate followed in 1975/76. In 1977 he was a research assistant at the seminar for German literature and language at the Technical University of Hanover. 1977-78 followed the habilitation at the Technical University of Hanover with a thesis on the subject: The citizen and his theater . His teaching license is for the history and aesthetics of audiovisual media: theater, film, television.

In 1979 Buck received a chair for theater, film and television studies at the University of Cologne and from then until his retirement in October 2010 was also director of the internationally renowned collection in Schloss Wahn.

The media makers and media scholars Manuel Andrack , Karin Beier , Elmar Goerden , Michaela Krützen , Gesa Marten , Lisa Gotto , Jessica Eisermann , Lorenz Engell , Georg Uecker and Hella von Sinnen studied with him .
