Gesa Marten

Gesa Marten (* 1963 ) is a German film editor and dramaturge , she lives in Potsdam and Cologne.

life and work

Gesa Marten studied theater, film and television studies, German and philosophy in Paris, Munich and Cologne . She has been working as a freelance film editor and dramaturge since 1991. Her work has received numerous awards, including a nomination for the German Television Prize in 2000 in the Best Editing category and the Grimme Prize several times . Since 2014 she has been professor for artistic montage of feature and documentary film at the Babelsberg Film University . Gesa Marten was a founding member of the documentary film women network LaDOC in 2003.

Gesa Marten is a member of the German and European Film Academy as well as the Federal Association of Film Editing Editor eV (BFS) .
