Elmar Weixlbaumer (born June 20, 1967 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian entrepreneur , publisher and author .

life and career

After compulsory schooling in Steyr , Weixlbaumer completed an apprenticeship as a company electrician in the then state-owned company Steyr Daimler Puch . He then passed the Matura after three semesters and began studying mathematics ( University of Vienna ) and business administration ( Vienna University of Economics ) in Vienna . His thesis was published in the GLIM Newsletter of the Royal Statistical Society in Cambridge.

In 1989 he founded the Discount Brokerage ABS Aktienhandels- und Vermögensverwaltungs GmbH. In 1992 Weixlbaumer sold the company to his then employee Christian Baha , who developed today's Superfund from it .

From 1996 to 2001 Weixlbaumer worked as a manager for Erste Bank in Vienna and then until 2002 as IT director at the Bertelsmann subsidiary Pixelpark .

In 2002 Weixlbaumer founded the non-fiction book publisher Goldegg Verlag . Other companies that Elmar Weixlbaumer heads or in which he has a majority stake: BuX. Publishing service , Goldegg Consulting , Goldegg Training . As an author, Weixlbaumer wrote non-fiction books on economic topics that were translated into several languages, as well as some prose works.

Weixlbaumer is a member of the PEN authors' association and the Concordia press club .

Elmar Weixlbaumer lives in Vienna .
