Elmira Hüseynova

Elmira Hüseynova ( Russian Эльмира Гусейнова ; born February 12, 1933 in Baku ; † January 23, 1995 ibid) was a Soviet - Azerbaijani sculptor and portrait painter .

Life

Hüseynova attended the Azerbaijan State Əzim-Əzimzadə School of Art (graduated in 1954) and then studied in Leningrad at the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture , graduating in 1960.

Hüseynova exhibited her works in various cities in the USSR from 1957 . Her work centered on writers , scientists , war heroes and working people. She used bronze , ceramic , epoxy , marble , plaster , stone, and wood. She became particularly famous for her large sculptures . In 1967 she was honored as an Honored Artist of the Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republic .

Hüseynova was married to the painter Togrul Narimanbekov and had a daughter Asmer, who also became an artist .

Hüseynova died after a long illness. Her works are exhibited in the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan , Azerbaijan State Art Galleries and in private collections. In 2012 there was an exhibition of her works in the Baku Gallery.
