Emil Rosenow Angelow ( bulg . : Емил Ангелов; born July 17, 1980 in Chaskowo , FIFA spelling according to the English transcription: Emil Angelov ) is a former Bulgarian football player . He played a total of 238 games in the Bulgarian A Grupa and the Turkish Süper Lig . In the seasons 2005/06 and 2006/07 he won the Bulgarian championship with Levski Sofia .
Club career
Angelow's professional career began at FK Swilengrad, for which he played as a youth. After one season he moved to Chernomorets Burgas , where he was active for three and a half years and scored 25 goals in 77 games. Levski Sofia signed him in January 2004 ; in the second half of the 2003/04 season he was used at the capital club 15 times and scored three goals. He became a regular player (season 2004/05: 27 appearances with ten goals, 2005/06: 24 games with six hits, 2006/07 23 appearances, nine goals) and won the cup and the Supercup with Levski in 2005 . In 2006 he was able to celebrate the championship with his team , and in 2007 even the double . All in all, he has appeared 89 times in the league with Levski, scoring 28 goals.
For Levski Angelow also played six times in the Champions League and Champions League qualification and 15 times in the UEFA Cup and its qualifying games. The team was able to advance to the quarter-finals in the 2005/06 UEFA Cup , but was eliminated by FC Schalke 04 after a 3-1 defeat in Sofia and 1-1 in the second leg. Angelow achieved the 1-0 lead in Gelsenkirchen .
After Lewski's coach Stanimir Stoilow wanted to rejuvenate the team for the 2007/08 season, Angelow no longer played a role in his plans. At the end of August 2007 he completed a trial training at Energie Cottbus , but was not obliged. In January 2008 he moved to Lewski's league rivals Litex Lovetsch .
In February 2009 he moved to the Turkish first division club Denizlispor .
In the summer of 2010 he moved to the newly promoted Karabükspor . He then played for Anorthosis Famagusta and Beroe Stara Sagora .
For the 2012/13 season he returned to Turkey and came to an agreement with the second division side Torku Konyaspor . After just two matchdays, he dissolved his contract by mutual agreement and parted ways with Konyaspor. In early 2013 he returned to Beroe Stara Sagora. In the summer of 2013 he moved to the B Grupa for FK Chaskowo , with whom he made promotion in 2014. He ended his career at the end of 2014.
