Emil Berger (born May 23, 1991 ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder , the focus of a transfer dispute between Degerfors IF and Örebro SK in 2010 , made his debut in 2011 in the Allsvenskan .

Career

Berger played in his youth at Degerfors IF , where his father Henrik Berger was active. As a guest player he played from 2006 for the youth teams of the Solna club AIK . He later moved up to the squad of the Degerfors IF competition team, for which he made his debut on the last day of the 2007 season in the second-rate Superettan . He was on the field with his father. At the end of the year he switched permanently to AIK. Only in the pre-season he played for the first division team in the competition team. Then he was in the squad of the partner Väsby United in the Superettan, but remained without a league game.

In the summer of 2008 Berger returned to Degerfors IF, until the end of the season he ran twice for the second division. After the club's relegation to the third division, he remained loyal to the club and became a regular player in the following years. After the direct resurgence, he was the focus of a transfer dispute in 2010. In May he had verbally reached an agreement with his club to extend his contract before announcing his move to Örebro SK to Allsvenskan at the turn of the year a month later . After ten season games in the starting lineup, Degerfors IF then deleted him from the team and reported Örebro SL to Svenska Fotbollförbundet . In July, the club loaned him to Carlstad United BK until the end of the season . In the autumn, Örebro SK was finally fined for having been contacted more than six months before the end of the contract.

Initially at the start of the season at Örebro SK, he only established himself as a substitute player in the last third of the season at the side of Valdet Rama , Nordin Gerzić and Samuel Wowoah . With one goal in eleven season games, he reached twelfth place in the table with the club. In addition, he was part of the Swedish U-21 squad at the junior international match against Malta in November , but was not used. He made his debut at the end of February of the following year as a substitute for Erdin Demir in the 1: 4 defeat against Russia . Due to injury, he only made 14 season appearances in the following season, at the end of the 2012 season he was relegated to the second division with the club. After he was only able to book four appearances in the first half of 2013, the club loaned him to the Icelandic club Fylkir Reykjavík from July until the end of the year . There he gained match practice in ten league games and scored one goal.

After his return to Sweden following the loan deal, Berger completed the season preparation with Örebro SK. Shortly before the end of the transition period at the end of March 2014, however, he moved to Norway to the third division club Kongsvinger IL . After only half a year, he terminated his contract there, and his former club Örebro SK then offered him help to find a job in Örebro through one of the sponsors.
