Samuel Wowoah (born June 17, 1976 in Buchanan ) is a Swedish - Liberian football player . The offensive player won several national titles with Djurgårdens IF .

Career

Wowoah started playing football at the Swedish club IFK Lindesberg . About the youth team of Örebro SK he came after occasional appearances for the first team to the lower-class club Hertzöga BK , before he joined the second division Motala AIF in 1998 . After twelve goals in 24 games in the second division season in 1998, Wowoah moved to Djurgårdens IF in the Allsvenskan before the 1999 season . With three goals this season, he could not prevent relegation at the end of the season. At the side of Niclas Rasck , Magnus Pehrsson , Stefan Bärlin and Pierre Gallo , he was the club's best internal goalscorer with twelve goals in the subsequent second division season and made a decisive contribution to direct recovery.

Despite the rise, Wowoah changed clubs and joined the reigning champion Halmstads BK . Here, however, he missed his scoring threat and soon found himself on the bench. After a season and a half, he returned to Djurgårdens IF in the summer of 2002. In 18 games by the end of the 2002 season , he contributed to winning the Swedish championship. At the side of Johan Elmander , Andreas Isaksson , Kim Källström and Stefan Rehn , he was also in the starting line-up in the final of the Swedish national cup against local rivals AIK , after 68 minutes he was replaced by the later winning goal scorer Louay Chanko . In the following season he also played in more than half of the season's games and defended the championship title with the team.

In February 2004 Djurgårdens IF and the Norwegian club Stabæk Fotball agreed on a loan contract until the end of the year. After the loan period expired, he returned to Sweden and signed a contract with IFK Göteborg , which, with Arne Erlandsen, had signed his coach from Norway. As a regular at the side of Niclas Alexandersson , Fredrik Risp and Stefan Selakovic , he reached the runner- up with the club in the 2005 season behind his former playing station Djurgårdens IF. In his second year in 16 games for the Klb on the field, he turned down a contract extension in Gothenburg at the end of the year.

Wowoah tried again abroad and joined the Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimni , which signed a one-year contract with an option for another half series. After the contract expired, he returned to Sweden in early 2008. The new club was its first professional station, Örebro SK. In the 2008 season he played all 30 games of the season and was also a regular in the following period. Therefore, the club extended its contract early in the summer of 2010 until the end of 2012.
