Emil Venske

Emil Venske (born July 18, 1847 in Karlhof , Bromberg district , † June 27, 1915 in Danzig ) was a German district administrator .

Life

Born the son of a landowner, Venske studied law and political science in Jena , Breslau and Berlin after attending grammar school in Bromberg . During his studies he became a member of the Teutonia Jena fraternity in 1865 and an honorary member in 1866 . In 1866/67 he was a one-year volunteer and in 1870/71 he took part in the Franco-German War as a reserve cavalry officer, he was a second lieutenant in the 1st Pomeranian Uhlan Regiment No. 4 . He was wounded in Gravelotte . Later he was employed as a captain in the Landwehr .

In 1869 he broke off his studies in order to manage his late father's estate. In 1884 he sold the estate and went to Wiesbaden as a private owner . In 1885 he went to Halle , where he studied law and, after graduating in 1887, became a court trainee on January 9, 1888 . In 1890 he became a government trainee with the Erfurt government . From 1892 to 1893 he was acting district administrator in the district office of Grafschaft Hohenstein . In 1894, after passing his state examination, he became a government assessor, and in 1895, after a short stay in Berlin, he became district administrator in the Tuchel district . In 1905 he became district administrator in the Danziger Höhe district . There he acquired the manor Zemblau in district Wejherowo and the manor Karlhof.
