Emilio Caprile (born September 30, 1928 in Genoa ; † March 5, 2020 ibid) was an Italian football player who played for various clubs and for the Italian national football team during his active career .
Career
society
Emilio Caprile began his active career in 1945 at CFC Genoa . The attacker was active for the Genoese in the 1945/46 season, where he was allowed to assert himself and to represent an important role in the team. Then Caprile went to FS Sestrese Calcio in 1919 . Although he only stayed there for a year, the striker managed to become a regular player with his performances in the second division. Shortly thereafter, Legnano took part in the AC , where Caprile was again no longer than one season in the squad. In the summer of 1948, the then 19-year-old received an offer from the first division club Juventus Turin and then joined the club. With the Turinians, Caprile met well-known competition, as the attack with Giampiero Boniperti , John Hansen , Johannes Pløger and Ermes Muccinelli was excellent.
He then worked for Atalanta Bergamo for two years before the offensive player returned to Juventus Turin and won the Scudetto with Juve in the 1951/52 season. After a year he left the club again and then played one season each for Lazio Rome and Como Calcio . After AC Legnano was relegated from Serie A at the end of the 1953/54 season , Caprile joined the Lombard club for the second time after 1947 . During the four years of his work followed in the season 1956/57 the renewed descent and the fall in the third-highest division, then Series C called. After he could not manage the immediate promotion with the team, he went for a year to the amateur club AC Sammargheritese .
National team
Caprile was first called up in 1948 in the Italian selection for hosting the Summer Olympics , for which he made his debut on August 2, 1948 in the game against the United States . In the 9-0 victory in the round of 16 against the USA, which was the highest international win of the Italian national team, he immediately scored his first goal. Three days later he met Denmark with the Squadra Azzurra at Highbury Stadium in the quarter-finals , the game ended with a 5-3 win for Denmark. John Hansen scored four goals for the Danes, Caprile was successful with the equalizer to 2-2.
To host the 1950 FIFA World Cup , the attacker National coach Ferruccio Novo as part of the Italian selection for the final round of the tournament nominated . In the two games of the preliminary round against Sweden and Paraguay , Gino Cappello , Riccardo Carapellese , Ermes Muccinelli , Giampiero Boniperti and Amedeo Amadei were preferred to him. After the elimination of the Italian national team in the preliminary round, Caprile disappeared from the field of vision of the national team and received no further bids for the Italian national team in the following period.
