Emily Dickson (born May 23, 1997 in Burns Lake ) is a Canadian biathlete.

Emily Dickson grew up in her native Burns Lake , but moved to Prince George and most recently to Canmore for better training opportunities .

Career

Emily Dickson contested her first international races at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2013 in Obertilliach . This was followed by further assignments at the 2014 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Presque Isle , the 2015 Biathlon Junior European Championships in Otepää , and the 2016 Junior Biathlon World Championships in Cheile Grădiştei. In February 2016 she played her first competition in the IBU Cup . In the sprint from Brezno - Osrblie , she only achieved 64th place after three shooting errors. In the following two years it continued to be used exclusively in the IBU Junior Cup as well as in the Junior European and World Championships. It was not until the 2018/19 season that she ran regularly in the IBU Cup, but was only rarely able to place within the points. In January 2020, Dickson competed in her first biathlon World Cup . In the sprint in Oberhof she just missed the points in 46th place. This season Dickson was nominated for the 2020 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz . With a 56th place in the sprint race, she could also qualify for the pursuit race, which she finished in 54th place. In the relay race she finished ninth - together with Emma Lunder , Megan Bankes and Nadia Moser - and thus achieved her first top 10 placement in the World Cup.
