Emma Jillian Kete (born September 1, 1987 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand soccer player who last played for Canberra United in Australia and was back in the New Zealand women's national soccer team in spring 2019 after seven years without an international match .
Career
Kete started her professional career for Lynn-Avon United and was loaned to Ottawa Fury in July 2009. In Canada and Ottawa, she played together with her national teammates Amber Hearn , Hayley Moorwood and Ria Percival . In the winter of 2009 she returned from Canada to Lynn Avon and played here the 2010 season. The following year, she left LA United and moved to league rivals Three Kings United .
In July 2011, she left her native New Zealand for a second time and moved to the British island, where Kete signed with the English club Lincoln Ladies FC. After only one mission, Kete was seriously injured and therefore terminated her contract in September 2011. After several weeks without a club and recovering from the injury, she moved to the Finnish Naisten Liiga for the PK-35 Vantaa . After scoring three goals in six games by the end of the season, she moved to Perth Glory in the Australian W-League at the end of the season in October 2011 . After she had a clash with her Norwegian roommate Lisa-Marie Woods off the pitch, she was released from her contract on December 8, 2011. After her release from Perth, she signed with Canberra United and moved to league rivals Sydney FC the following season .
On January 31, 2013, she announced her move to SC 07 Bad Neuenahr and returned to her former club Three Kings United in the summer of 2013 after the Bundesliga club went bankrupt. After four months in New Zealand, she returned to Australia for Sydney FC in the W-League and joined the NWSL participant Western New York Flash for the 2014 season . There Kete was released on May 21 after only three missions and moved to Manchester City in the FA WSL . With Manchester she won the League Cup in 2014, the first title for the Manchester Ladies. She then returned to Canberra United . The semi-finals of the Australian Championship , lost 1-0 to Sydney FC on January 24, 2016, is their last game.
International
In the summer of 2006 she was nominated for the 2006 U-20 World Cup and played in the opening game against Australia at the final tournament in Russia.
On February 4, 2007, Kete made her A international debut for the Ferns against the Australian women's national soccer team . On April 11, 2007, it achieved during 8: 0 against the Solomon Islands national football team of women as part of the OFC Women's Nations Cup in 2007 her first international goal. New Zealand won the Oceanic Championship and qualified for the 2007 World Cup , for which it was not considered.
In July 2008 she was nominated by national coach John Herdman for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . At the tournament she played in all three group matches.
She had two appearances at the 2010 Oceania Women's Soccer Championship and won her second continental title, which qualified the New Zealanders for the 2011 World Cup. It was also for the World Cup nomination , arrived in Germany but not used.
In 2012 she had six more appearances, but was not nominated for the 2012 Summer Olympics . Although she denied then three years no international game, it was for the 2015 World Championships nominated , but there is not used. At the Cup of Nations in February / March 2019 in Australia , she was used again for the first time after seven years without an international match and then also nominated for the 2019 World Cup .
