Emra Tahirović (born July 31, 1987 in Sarajevo (former Yugoslavia , now Bosnia and Herzegovina )) is a Swedish football player. The 1.89 meter tall striker is originally from Bosnia and emigrated to Sweden in 1992 .

Career

Career start in Sweden

Tahirović began his professional career at Örebro SK in the second-rate Superettan . After a season in which he played 21 league games - 17 of them as a substitute - he moved on to Halmstads BK in the first-class Allsvenskan . There he came in one and a half seasons to 30 games, although he was still used mainly as a substitute. Nevertheless, Tahirović was considered in the Swedish U-21 selection . For the junior national team he made his debut on June 5, 2007 in the game in Helsingborg between Sweden and Switzerland , which ended 0-0. In the game against Latvia , which could be won 4-2, he came to a second use.

Change abroad

In the summer of 2007, Tahirović, who was associated with Werder Bremen , Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Zurich , moved to Lille OSC in the French Ligue 1 . After only 2 games in the French Ligue 1 at OSC Lille, he moved in January 2008 as the third Swedish player alongside Dušan Đurić and Andrés Vásquez to the reigning Swiss champions FC Zurich during this transfer period. He signed a loan contract until the end of the season with the option of a definitive takeover until summer 2012. After two goals in 16 games this season, the club decided after the departure of Eudis to continue to employ the offensive player and took the option.

Under coach Bernard Challandes Tahirović could not prevail in the team at the beginning of the 2008/09 season and played temporarily in the second team. Finally, he was loaned to his former Swedish club Örebro SK in winter 2009 . In his first professional station he was used regularly, but again mainly as a substitute.

After the end of the season, Tahirović initially returned to FC Zurich. On January 22nd, however, he left Switzerland on loan again and joined the Dutch club MVV Maastricht in the second-class Eerste Divisie . After he initially returned to Switzerland at the end of the season, FC Zurich loaned him to the Spanish third division club CD Castellón for the entire season in August 2010 and agreed a purchase option with the Spanish. However, he was only used irregularly, in February 2011 the club suspended him. In May the Swedish press reported that the player had not yet been paid at his Spanish club.

In August 2011 it was announced that FC Zurich and Emra Tahirovic had terminated the contract, which ran until 2013, by mutual agreement. As a result he was without a club.
