Bernard Challandes (born July 28, 1951 in Le Locle ) is a Swiss football coach .
Career
His coaching career began at FC La Chaux-de-Fonds . Further stations were Le Locle, Yverdon-Sport FC , Servette FC Genève and the BSC Young Boys . His engagements in Geneva and Bern each lasted less than a year. A name had Challandes in Yverdon made after the Vaud from the first league in the National League A had led.
- From 1995 Challandes worked for the Swiss Football Association , since 2001 he was the U-21 national coach. His greatest success with this selection was in 2002 when he reached the European Championship semi-finals in his own country.
- In the 2008/09 season he was Swiss champion with FC Zurich , which he had coached since summer 2007. On April 19, 2010 - after the 0-1 home defeat against FC Aarau - he was dismissed and released immediately.
- For the 2010/11 season Challandes was the new coach of FC Sion . On February 22, 2011, he was replaced by Laurent Roussey . On Friday, May 13, 2011, Challandes took over the post of head coach at Xamax. Despite maintaining the league, his contract was not extended.
- From the beginning of the 2011/12 season until the middle of the 2012/13 season, Challandes was the coach of FC Thun .
- At the beginning of April 2013, Challandes was again coach of BSC Young Boys .
- On February 28, 2014 it was announced that the Neuchâtel would take over the Armenian national football team on March 5 . On March 30, 2015 he resigned as national coach of Armenia after a 2-1 defeat in qualifying for the 2016 European Championship against Albania .
- On March 1, 2018, Challendes took over the Kosovar national soccer team as national coach.
