Güngör came from Bakırköyspor in 2001 and played for MKE Ankaragücü until the 2007/08 winter break . During this time he was loaned to Türk Telekomspor for one season . Emre Güngör switched to traditional Turkish club Galatasaray Istanbul during the winter break of the 2007/08 season and became Turkish champions a few months later .
In June 2010, his transfer to Gaziantepspor was announced. After two seasons at Gaziantepspor, he moved to league rivals Antalyaspor in the summer of 2012 . In the summer of 2014, Güngör moved to the first division club Kardemir Karabükspor .
After Karabükspor missed relegation at the end of the 2014/15 season, Güngör left the club and moved to league rivals Eskişehirspor . Since this club missed the league of the Süper Lig at the end of the season, Güngör also left this club after one season. After he could not come to an agreement with any first division team in the 2016 summer transfer period, he moved to the second division side Bandırmaspor on the last day of the transfer period . Güngör made nine second division games for Bandırmaspor and has been without a club since summer 2017.
National team
In 2008, during his participation with the Turkish national team in the European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland , the athlete was relieved of the permanent state university entrance examination in the team's training area on the day of the pre-group match between Turkey and the Czech Republic .
Emre Güngör suffered a torn muscle fiber in his left thigh during the group game between Turkey and the Czech Republic. This meant that the 2008 European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland ended prematurely for him .
