Engenstein is the partner village of the Biberau district of the Schleusegrund community in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

history

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1311, its name suggests a striking narrow point in the Bibertal. According to local tradition, the Engenstein castle site was located close to the east of the village , the stones of which were used in the construction of the church in Biberschlag .
