Untereubrunn is a place in the municipality Schleusegrund in the district of Hildburghausen in Thuringia .

Untereubrunn is located in the middle Schleusetal, the former district has merged with Schönbrunn. Untereubrunn is on the eastern side of the valley, along the lower Schnetter Straße. Schönbrunn - formerly Schönau - is the central district with which Untereubrunn, Oberneubrunn and Ernstthal have been merged. This connection results in an area with an extension of over 3.5 km in the valleys of the lock and the Neubrunn .
history
Untereubrunn was first mentioned in a document on August 14, 1485. The place belonged to the office Eisfeld , which from 1826 belonged to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen .
A school was founded in 1570. 1648 a copper mine was named. In 1890 the narrow-gauge railway Eisfeld –Unterneubrunn was opened. On July 1, 1950, the previous communities of Gabel , Oberneubrunn , Schönau and Unterneubrunn were merged to form the new community of Schönbrunn . This has belonged to the Schleusegrund community since 1994.
