Ernstthal is a district of Schönbrunn, which was formed in 1950 by merging the villages of Schönbrunn . Schönbrunn belongs to the municipality Schleusegrund in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

location

Schönbrunn - formerly Schönau - is the central district in which next to Untereubrunn , Oberneubrunn and Ernstthal have been merged. This connection results in an area over 3.5 kilometers in the valleys of Schleuse and Neubrunn .

history

Ernstthal was first mentioned in a document in 1445. The former village of "Hüttenschönau" arose after 1750 around a small manor on the site of an older wire hut. On January 1, 1904, Ernstthal was incorporated into Unterneubrunn.
