Location of the Enheimermühle (bold) in the Martinsheim municipal area

The Enheimermühle is a remote area in the district of Martin Heimer hamlet Enheim in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

The Enheimermühle is relatively centrally located in the Martinsheim municipality on the Breitbach tributary Steinbach. Further north, the municipality of Obernbreit begins some distance away . In the east, the federal motorway 7 runs past the mill, further east the municipality of Seinsheim begins with the district of Wässerndorf . The south is occupied by the Martinsheimermühle , which is also located on the brook that is still called the Märzbach. Enheim itself takes the west.

In terms of natural space, the Enheimermühle can be located in the so-called Ifftal area, which is part of the Ochsenfurter and Gollachgau. The Märzbach was able to create a particularly deep valley in the Upper Muschelkalk here .

history

The history of the mill can only be traced in outline. A system on the so-called Steinbach was first mentioned before 1308, which makes the mill one of the oldest in the area. At first the property and the associated mill justice was in the hands of the nuns of the Premonstratensian monastery in Tückelhausen . The Enheimermühle soon came to the Lords of Hohenlohe , who in 1308 sold half of the system to the canons of the canons of Haug near Würzburg.

The mill was an important supply institution for the people of Enheim, which is why the rulers attached great importance to their property. By 1503 Enheim came to the noble family of the same name as an Ansbach fief . In addition to eleven farms in the village, Jörg von Enheim also owned the mill. The use of water by the mill was the subject of a dispute between the Enheimers and the Martinsheimers in the 18th century. In 1731 there were even violent attacks, with people from Obernbreit also participating in the clashes.
