The duck is a river with 14 km length in the region Tuscany , Italy , the provinces of Grosseto and Siena passes from south to north.

course

The Torrente Ente rises near the center of Arcidosso on the western foothills of the Monte Amiata mountain and flows north. After 3 km in the municipality it passes into that of Castel del Piano , where it remains a total of 6 km and flows around the town center to the west. Here it meets the district of Gallaccino ( 642  m slm ). Near and below the district of Montegiovi it passes the mill Molino del Ponte di Montegiovi and its bridge from the 14th century, then the Vivo enters from the right and shortly afterwards from the left the Zancona (17 km). Then it reaches the western municipality of Seggiano (as the border river to Castel del Piano in the wine-growing region of Montecucco ) and enters the province of Siena , where it touches the municipality of Castiglione d'Orcia and Montalcino for about 1 km . Then it flows into the Orcia as a left tributary .

After the Second World War , parts of the river were diverted to the Acquedotto del Vivo (Acquedotto di Siena) at Burlana (Presa di Burlana).
