The energy & water on site GmbH - enwor is a municipal energy and water companies in the Aachen region ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), headquartered in Herzogenrath - Kohlscheid . At the beginning of 2004 the “ Wasserwerk des Kreis Aachen ” and “ ASEAG Energie GmbH ” were merged to form “enwor - energie & wasser vor ort GmbH”

It supplies the towns of Alsdorf (excluding Bettendorf ), Baesweiler , Eschweiler (for the most part), Herzogenrath , Roetgen- Rott , Stolberg and Würselen (all of the Aachen region ) and the town of Übach-Palenberg ( Heinsberg district ) with water and is a pre-supplier in Eschweiler for the “Städt. Wasserwerk Eschweiler GmbH ". Since January 1, 2019, all citizens of the city of Übach-Palenberg have been supplied with drinking water by Stadtwerke Übach-Palenberg GmbH, which is operated by enwor.

The cities of Würselen and Herzogenrath are also supplied with electricity and some district heating , and Herzogenrath also with natural gas .

In large parts of the supply area, enwor is also laying broadband cables in cooperation with Internet providers such as NetAachen .

The company with its approx. 320 employees thus supplies

  • around 270,000 people with drinking water
  • around 85,000 of them also with electricity and
  • around 20,000 also with natural gas.

The drinking water production and treatment is carried out by WAG Nordeifel , which is a 50% subsidiary of enwor. The energy and drinking water networks have a total length of approx. 2300 km.

The company is a partner in Trianel , a joint venture of mainly German utility companies, which operates as a service provider in the areas of generation, trade and sales and, together with its shareholders, is developing renewable power plant capacities in particular.
