The Eparchy of Newton ( lat. : Eparchia Neotoniensis Graecorum Melkitarum ) is in the United States located eparchy of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church based in the Boston area Roslindale .
history
The Newton Eparchy was founded on January 10, 1966 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Byzantini Melkitarum as the Apostolic Exarchate United States for the Melkite believers . The United States Apostolic Exarchate for the Melkite Believers was founded on June 28, 1976 by Paul VI. Elevated to the Eparchy with the Apostolic Constitution Cum apostolicum and renamed Eparchy Newton .
